Opportunities
in Fort
Lauderdale Foreign Trade Zones
In a recent
presentation to the World Trade Center Board of Advisors in Fort
Lauderdale GPI learned about an exciting new program that will
benefit corporations located in any of the five foreign trade
areas of Fort Lauderdale. The City of Fort Lauderdale Executive
Airport is establishing a Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) in northern
and western Broward County, Florida. This new FTZ will be the
second zone available to companies doing business in Broward.
An FTZ is a federal program to defer, reduce, or eliminate costly
Customs duties on products imported into the U.S. Companies currently
paying Customs duties on imported goods are invited to take advantage
of this program. This new FTZ offers businesses several location
options. Businesses can choose the Airport’s 200-acre Industrial
Park, one of three sites in the City’s Enterprise Zone, or one
of three privately owned sites. Approval on the new Zone is expected
in March 2000. For additional information on how your company
may benefit from the new Zone, please contact Clara Bennett at
(954) 938-4966, or at ClaraB@ci.ftlaud.fl.us

| Have
you considered the value of your long term supplier partnerships
as your company merges, departments restructure, and/or new computer
systems are installed? What about when your new Division Head needs
that old version of the NormXYZ that regulates the new line of products
being manufactured ? What do you do when you have just enough time
to manage the daily challenges and the requested version is not
available? You need to rely on the support of a long term partner.
One that adds value to the service and responds YES when you ask:
|
Do you have
the English version of the brochure done in Portuguese sometime
in 1997?This
partner must have a clear understanding that as businesses evolve
and companies change, the support of a long term supplier that
manages your foreign language files and stores them can save you
time, money and stress. Long term partners strive to nurture relationships
by learning from you, from your business evolution and from the
role you play in the global marketplace. True value added partnerships
stay up to date about how industry trends affect your business.
This is a fact. You can bet on it.
