TECNOLÓGICO DE MONTERREY, MIAMI HEADQUARTERS AND GALINDO PUBLICIDAD INC., SIGN STRATEGIC ALLIANCE AGREEMENT "Every Tec Alum is Committed to Developing Their Community..." For additional
information call: Galindo Publicidad at 954 255 5620 Miami, March 21, 2003. Following a series of meetings, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Miami Headquarters and Galindo Publicidad, Inc., a multi-award winning US company owned by Mexican native and Tec communications alum Martha E. Galindo, entered into a strategic alliance to carry out various marketing, promotional and sales activities for the various products and services of the prestigious institutions virtual university in professional and corporate circles in the US and Latin America. "There is a convergence of factors in harmony with Tecnológico de Monterrey Virtual Universitys Mission of offering quality education using innovative educational models, learning networks and advanced information technology to contribute to the integration and development of Spanish-speaking communities. To fulfill this mission, we believe that this strategic alliance with Galindo Publicidad, Inc. is in keeping with the track record of success and commitment to the community demonstrated by this company. We are very interested in doing business and stimulating the professional activity of our graduates who have made a name for themselves in various fields, wherever they may be. In the case of Ms. Galindo, her background as an award-winning business woman in Florida, as well as her enthusiasm, dedication and passion for the professional training and development of the Hispanic community in the US and Latin America, make this agreement an ideal means to position Tecnológico de Monterreys Virtual University in these markets," said Mr. José Gerardo Rocha, Tecnológico de Monterreys Director of Marketing, Promotion and Sales for the United States and Latin America. The historic time in the United States to implement this alliance is vastly important, since the Spanish language has become of great interest in the private and government sectors. Experts project the US Latin markets buying power to grow to $900 billion by the year 2005. On the agreement, Martha E. Galindo said, I feel happy and honored that we have signed this agreement with Tecnológico de Monterreys Miami headquarters. Our relationship has always been cordial and beneficial through the Tecnológico de Monterrey South Florida Alumni Association, and now it has evolved to this point. The US currently has no institution of higher education and training for managers and executives that provides training and refresher courses, continuing education, masters and exclusive business programs in Spanish backed with solid institutional prestige. This is a unique opportunity to join forces, she noted. It is also important to note that Galindo Publicidad is also at a crucial stage in its plans for corporate expansion, with plans in 2003 to expand operations and open an office in San Antonio, Texas. There is much to be done to spread the word and win a foothold for Tecnológico de Monterrey in the United States. I am confident that the dynamic open spirit of this relationship can inspire more Tec alums in this countrys Spanish-speaking community to commit to the professional development of the Latino community, added Ms. Galindo. When asked about the secret to her professional success and her companys recognition and success, Ms. Galindo noted, In general, Ive been very optimistic and honest. I thrive on day-to-day decision-making and take responsibility for what I do. I enjoy and am inspired by learning from others and am not afraid to surround myself with capable people. I learn from what I observe, feel and see. I try to recognize when to fight the fight and how to connect data and people. Ive been fortunate to receive support and recognition from my loved ones (parents, teachers, bosses, colleagues, friends and family). I also believe that to a large extent we define our own futures, and I combine my instincts with my training. I dont think they should be at odds. As human beings we are very complex, and these two parts are essential for building a life with passion and dedication. In short, when we ignore what our gut, brain or heart is telling us, something inside us gets put on hold, and it becomes even harder to make decisions to accomplish anything, concluded Ms. Galindo with a smile. + Tecnológico de Monterrey Galindo Publicidad, Inc., founded in 1993
